Dr. Wafaa El Saddik Visits Again

Dottie and I were privileged to host Dr. Wafaa El Saddik, Director of the Egyptian Museum in Cairo and her husband Dr. Azmy El Rabbit, in our home again this year. Her five day visit to Foxcroft was prompted by the fact that her son is a boarding student at the Academy and she had been in America as a guest lecturer at various universities and museums, most recently, Emory University.

During Dr. El Saddik’s stay at the Academy she gave 13 different presentations to students on topics ranging from the Egyptian Museum’s Collection, Egyptimology, the exhibit of Tutankhamun to the artifacts of the lost city of Atlantis, which are still being discovered. In addition, Dr. Azmy El Rabbat lectured to various science classes on the medicine of Ancient Egypt and in particular, the science of Egyptian mummification.

Our girls most of all enjoyed sitting around our dinning room table at night looking at various books on egyptimology as well as artifacts which Dr. El Saddik brought with her and listening to Dr. El Saddik tell story after story about ancient Egypt.
Dottie and I plan to visit Egypt next year as a guest of Dr. El Saddik to see many of the ancient Egyptian artifacts in person, but mostly to visit with our good friends Waffa and Azmy.

This is so very interesting to find out about your students even tho we see each other every week, we do not know much about what goes on away from church. Thanks for this site.
